I am pleased with my race in Sydney on Sunday - my main goal was to finish the race and gain experience. I had a great swim, I was suprised that the swim seemed fairly easy - I managed to get clear water before the first bouy and then just kept up a pace which felt good to me. I came out of the water 3rd!
The bike was quite tough at times as I felt with such a large group you had to be alert the whole time and take care not to get caught at the back.
Had a great time in Mooloo. Travelled over a week before the race to try get used to the heat, but when we got there it was not very hot due to a cyclone just up the coast... But did some good training/exploring and felt great going into the race. The race itself was very tough. I swam very well, coming out of the water around 5th. Had a good transition into the front pack and tried to just sit in and not do too much work. Onto the run and I was feeling good and comfortable for the first lap...... Continue reading ...
